KWS DIRECTOR GENERAL FLAGS OFF THE LAST LEG OF SUCCESSFUL TRANSLOCATION OF 21 BLACK RHINOS TO LOISABA CONSERVANCY

In a spectacular win for black rhino conservation, KWS Director General Dr. Erustus Kanga flagged off the last leg of a nearly month-long translocation exercise, which saw three (3) eastern black rhinos moved from Nairobi National Park, Friday 2nd February, 2024. The rhinos were moved to their new home in Loisaba Conservancy, Laikipia County.

GERMAN EMBASSY DONATES TWO VEHICLES TO KWS

Kenya Wildlife Service received conservation support from the German Embassy in Kenya, in the form of two heavy duty vehicles and assorted office equipment, Thursday, 1st February, 2024 at Clubhouse in Nairobi National Park.

The donations were handed over by the German Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Sebastian Groth, and other officials from the Embassy.

HUMAN-HYAENA CONFLICT MITIGATION IN JUJA SUB COUNTY, KIAMBU COUNTY

Human-wildlife conflict arises when human activities impact wildlife negatively or vice versa. In Kenya, this conflict poses significant challenges, leading to injuries, fatalities, crop destruction, infrastructure damage, and disruption of human activities.

Regrettably, Juja Sub-County in Kiambu County has witnessed a surge in human-hyaena conflicts, resulting in the tragic loss of human life. Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) extends condolences to the affected families.
